  • Arrow Keys to change directions (just like in snake games!)
  • Escape when game over to restart the game

GAME & RULES

Spade is a puzzle game made in under 3 hours for TriJam #50. The theme is "Not the game you think it was". It is snake-like so you could play just like a normal snake game.

Don't do that! It is OK to play like that but you will earn no points. You have to act like  a spade to dig the seemingly meaningless super thick "walls".  After that, each time you eat a food(organge), a REAL food(yellow) will be spawned and you can eat it to earn points.

But be careful, digging can be dangerous. When entering digging state, the snake/spade cannot touch previously dug areas or it will die. Go through spawned food is safe, though.

The game interprets the theme "Not the game you think it was" from two aspects. Firstly, by looking at the game one would think it is a snake game, and then encounter some unexpected aspects (penetrable walls and no score from foods). Secondly, with the context of the jam, one would think it is not a snake game but you can also play it just in a snake game's manner, despite no score.
